Who we are
TestLab (testlabapp.com) is operated by Digivo, India ("we", "us"). This policy covers the website and the emails it sends. For questions about it, email contact@testlabapp.com.
What we collect
When you create an account
- Your first and last name and email address, and your password, which we store only in hashed form.
- If you sign in with Google: your name, email address, profile picture link and Google account ID.
- The time and IP address of your sign-ins, and how many times you've signed in.
When you practise
- MCQ practice: the answers you choose, whether they were right, attempts and when you answered, plus the XP, levels, streaks and certificates that follow from them.
- Interview prep: which answers you read, the time spent and how far you scrolled on them, the questions you mark as known or to revise, your interview plan (date and technologies) and your email preferences.
Without an account
- Easy MCQ questions work without an account; your answers then aren't saved to our database.
- On interview pages, your browser keeps a random visitor ID and how many full answers you've opened. We record when the sign-in prompt is shown and whether you sign in, to choose how many free answers to offer. If you sign in, that record is linked to your account.
When you contact us
- The name, email address, subject and message you send through the contact form or by email.
Automatically
- Our servers log requests (IP address, browser, the page asked for and the time) to keep the site running and secure.
- Analytics and advertising services collect information through cookies, as described under Cookies, analytics and ads.
We don't ask for your phone number, and we don't store card details: payments for the interview plan are handled by our payment provider.
How we use it
- To run your account: sign-in, saved progress, unlocking levels, XP, streaks, certificates, your interview plan and review list.
- To send email: account emails (confirming your address, resetting your password) and, if you use interview prep, plan reminders, review emails and a weekly summary, which you can turn off at any time.
- To answer your messages and requests.
- To improve TestLab: for example, measuring which pages are used and testing how many free interview answers to offer.
- To show ads, which keep MCQ practice free.
- To keep TestLab secure, prevent abuse and meet our legal obligations.
We use your personal data on the basis of your consent, which you give by creating an account or using the site, and you can withdraw it as described under Your rights.
What others can see
Your progress, answers and plan are private to your account. Certificates are the exception: a certificate page shows your name, the subject, the level and your accuracy to anyone who has its link, so that you can share it. Certificate pages are kept out of search engines.
How long we keep it
- Account data, progress and certificates: for as long as you have an account. When you delete your account in your account settings, they are deleted.
- Contact messages: for as long as we need them to answer you and keep a record of the request.
- Server logs and backups: for a limited period, after which they are overwritten.
- Anything we must keep for longer by law, for that period only.
Security
Connections to TestLab are encrypted (HTTPS), passwords are stored hashed, and access to personal data is limited to the people who run the service. No method of storing or sending data is completely secure, so please use a strong password that you don't use elsewhere.
Your rights
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and other applicable law, you can:
- ask what personal data we hold about you and how we use it;
- correct or update it (your name, email address and password can be changed in your account settings);
- have it erased, by deleting your account or by asking us;
- withdraw your consent, which ends our use of your data from then on;
- nominate someone to exercise these rights for you if you die or become unable to;
- raise a grievance with us, and then, if it isn't resolved, with the Data Protection Board of India.
To use any of these rights, email contact@testlabapp.com. You can stop interview emails at any time from the unsubscribe link in each email or the email settings page.
Children
TestLab is meant for people aged 13 and over. If you are under 18, use TestLab with the consent of a parent or guardian. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has given us personal data without your consent, email contact@testlabapp.com and we will delete it.
Where data is stored
TestLab is run from India. Our servers and the services listed above may store and process data in India or in other countries, with the safeguards those services provide.
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy we update the date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we'll also tell account holders by email or with a notice on the site.
